Agenda
Joris de Graaf and Tessa van Charldorp
GDPR session
In our first colloquium session of the new academic year we will open up the discussion about research ethics, data management and the GDPR. We will discuss items such as: what is the GDPR, what does data minimization mean, how should we handle personal data, should I always write a data management plan and how can I be as transparent and “open” as possible, while at the same time protecting my research participants or informants? We will hear from Privacy Officer REBO en GW Joris de Graaf about the things we need to arrange as researchers and where we can seek help. Researcher Tessa van Charldorp (Language & Communication) will share her first-hand experiences of collecting data that is usually extremely difficult to collect (video recordings of children, their parents, and health providers talking about potentially controversial health related issues). We will open up the floor for questions, discussion and together we will look ahead to a new year of ethically sound, transparent and FAIR research.
